Mammoth 03-31-19

Katie's parents invited us to join them at their rental condo in Mammoth for the weekend so the girls could take a ski lesson together. After dropping Willow off at the dog boarder Thursday morning, we headed up to the mountains. We stopped in Bishop to grab some bread and baked goods (plus yummy Mexican food) before reaching Mammoth. As we stopped for a photo with the Mammoth sign, it started to snow lightly. Friday was ski school day! Cecily and Katie picked up their ski rentals at Eagle Lodge and were off with their instructor Heinz from Germany. When they finished, we all had lunch together. Then Richard and Caren drove the girls to Canyon Lodge so they could keep practicing on the green slopes. After they were done, we booked it over to the Main Lodge so the girls could take the last gondola up to the summit for photos with the Mammoth sign. Richard and Caren watched them take their pictures through the Mammoth Mountain webcam. We ended the night with chili, smores, and a fire in the condo. http://pix.sfly.com/Ca-pGD

On Saturday, we went exploring. First we headed to the little Mammoth shopping area and took the gondola for a ride. We enjoyed a delicious margarita and lunch at Gomez, then went to do some sledding. Cecily and Katie ended their day in the hot tub throwing snowballs. http://pix.sfly.com/e4NuJc

Our last day, we got up early to get on the road to head home. Even though it was a long drive, it was so nice to not have to drive crazy, curvy mountain roads. http://pix.sfly.com/3t5FoO

GS Sephora 03-24-19

We met up with Troop 694 at Sephora to learn about skin care and make-up as part of their Science of Style Badge. Sephora did a great job covering 4 out of 5 steps for the badge as well as giving the girls a free bag of samples. APA Phantom 03-16-19

Cecily and Caren went to watch their first APA performance of Paige in Phantom of the Opera. She was a pit singer in the ensemble, and it was fun to see her there. The show was AMAZING. We attended the second performance, and later we learned that Michael Crawford attended their final performance. So cool! Soliman Funeral & Pacific City 03-15-19

Rasha's dad passed away after being in the hospital for three weeks. Caren attended the funeral with Jo and Lori, then headed to the burial and reception to support Rasha. http://pix.sfly.com/BeqNfP

Every 15 Minutes & Soccer Banquet 03-13-19

The high school district has an amazing program called Every 15 Minutes that rotates through the four Huntington Beach high schools every year that teaches the kids about drunk driving. This year, it was located at Marina. They use real students from the high school to recreate a drunk driving accident right outside the school. The drunk driver was a girl on the varsity soccer team who had to miss this evening's banquet because she was in "jail." A video showing what lead to the accident can be found on You Tube. Hopefully the kids learn the serious consequences of drinking and driving from this program. http://pix.sfly.com/yO-wWE

That night, we had Cecily's soccer banquet at the Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach. The golf course there was beautiful, and Richard wished he could play golf. The girls took pictures outside before we enjoyed some bbq for dinner and a soccer slideshow. It was a fun but long night. http://pix.sfly.com/aKDB1Y

Ito Funeral 03-09-19

GS Cookies & Golf 03-03-19

Sophia missed selling Girl Scout cookies, so she helped Cecily go door-to-door around our neighborhood to sell some. Cecily has enjoyed being back at golf so she can practice her swing. http://pix.sfly.com/aszGnb
