Happy belated birthday, Emma! Emma was in England for her 9th birthday, so we did a pool playdate when she got back. We ate at the Seacliff shopping center food court first before heading to the pool. Cecily gave her some fun stuff from Justice (shirt, lip gloss, and a soccer BFF necklace). Grandparents Weekend 07-22-13

Cecily knew Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Otto were coming for the weekend to visit. While she was waiting, she played board games with Tomi on Skype. She was excited to be surprised that Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Otto came a day earlier than she expected on Thursday evening. Friday morning after breakfast at Green Street Cafe, we went for a walk through the wetlands. Richard got some fantastic pictures of the wildlife there. Back at home, Cecily and Grandma Lynn made cupcakes together. 07-19-13 On Saturday, Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Otto took Cecily to the movies to see Despicable Me 2. Cecily loved the movie, particularly the minions. After the movie, Cecily and Caren went to a pool party at the neighbors house. That night, Cecily did the dishes on her own for the very first time. 07-20-13

Sunday, we headed down for a day of fun at Legoland. We tried the new Ramen restaurant for lunch. Cecily LOVED the ramen, so we will definitely have to eat there again. Then, Richard let Cecily get a giant tube of flavored sugar. Madi's Birthday Party 07-13-13

Happy 12th Birthday, Madi! We helped her celebrate at her beach party. Cecily had fun with Laira in the waves and collecting sand crabs. In the evening, a boy named Cody Lovaas came to sing a short concert for them. Madi and her friends were so excited for him to be there. He even signed autographs and gave each girl a CD of his music. OC Fair 07-12-13

We went to the opening day of the OC Fair again this year. Gina brought Kayla and Sean, and Gaelen even drove out from San Bernardino with Jackson and Jordan to join us. We picked up Charlize on the way and stopped at Chick-Fil-A to grab our free food for Cow Appreciation Day for lunch before heading into the fair. Cecily was nice and shared her ride tickets with Jackson. Her favorite ride was the sky ride, which she got to ride with Kayla and Charlize by themselves. We checked out the animals and saw some art before running back to HB for Cecily's first fitness training with a Galaxy coach for soccer (with a quick stop at Sonic to grab some slushies to cool down). After soccer, Cecily played with Jackson at the playground for a bit until we grabbed Richard to head to Chick-Fil-A for dinner. Sunset Beach 07-07-13

Cecily and Richard started off the morning with a fun walk through the wetlands with their cameras. In the afternoon, Kelly (one of the original moms in our playgroup when the kids were babies) brought her family to visit while they were in town. Kelly's three kids (Ethan, Mason, and Callum) have all gotten so big! Cecily didn't remember Ethan even though she did everything with him and Paige when they were little. The kids did get a chance to Skype with Tomi before we headed to Sunset Beach. The wind was too much for Dawn and Gina, but Caren stayed with Kelly as Cecily and Ethan were having a blast playing in the waves. They warmed up with a quick dip in the condo hot tub across the street before grabbing Richard and heading to Lazy Dog for dinner where Dawn also came to join us. 4th of July 07-04-13

Happy 4th of July! Poor Richard had to work, so Caren and Cecily decided to ride their bikes downtown to join their friends for the Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade. We stopped by to say hi to our Harbour View friends, but we watched the parade with our playgroup friends. The day started out cloudy, but the sun came out during the parade so the kids got to enjoy some water fun as well. Cecily especially enjoyed playing with Rio, Bronson's friend who we have hung out with before.

After the parade, we had a Chronic Taco picnic at Paige's house before heading home to wash the car. In the evening, we rode our bikes to Danielle's house for a BBQ dinner and fireworks. Happy Birthday, Gina! Cecily and Tomi watched Full House together through Skype while Caren went out to dinner at Palmilla to celebrate Gina's birthday in Hermosa Beach.
