Halloween 10-31-16
Happy Halloween! Cecily gave out Halloween smores to all her teachers, and Caren took the carpool kids to get ice cream after school. We trick or treated around our block with the Connes before heading over to Cecily's new friend, Paris' house for more trick or treating. It was crazy how dead her neighborhood in Fountain Valley was, so the girls made out with a lot of candy (even a red envelope with money and a reusable water cup from one house!).

CHOC Walk 10-30-16
This year for CHOC Walk, we walked as part of the Earth Friendly Products team with Kelly, Alexsia, and Kelly's trainer Loretta. After the walk, we enjoyed a nice buffet brunch at Tortilla Joe's before checking out the vendor booths. So fun to see all the Ecos products at the Earth Friendly booth. And then on our way back to the parking structure, we ran into Emma! Cecily was so excited to see her!

ivivva Halloween Party 10-28-16
We went to the ivivva Halloween Party at South Coast Plaza and met up with Paige, Kayden, Taylor, and Kaitlyn on Friday night. We also saw a girl from school, Darcey, and ran into Francesca as well. The girls had fun in the photobooth, getting their faces painted, dancing, and eating cupcakes. Saturday morning, Cecily got to build a Lego Frankenstein at Toys R Us.

Soccer Weekend 10-23-16
On Saturday, we traveled to Santa Ana to play Region 517. The fields there were covered in geese and geese poop. It was pretty disgusting, but our girls played well and tied 1-1. After the game, we headed back to referee a girls U8 soccer game.

In the afternoon, we headed to Maggie's house for our team Halloween party. The girls had a great time carving pumpkins, dancing, and decorating cookies. It was a fun team-bonding experience.

Cecily was nominated by her soccer coach to try out for the all-star team along with Nivea, Sam, Hailey, and Alex. This year, she actually decided to do it. On Sunday, they did the try-outs a little differently this year, and Cecily was paired up with Gracie and Aiyana, who she played with the previous year. Since the three of them had played well together before, they did an amazing job together at the all-star try outs. It was great to see Cecily do such a good job.

Conference Week 10-21-16
This week was parent/teacher conference week, so Caren fed the teachers breakfast and lunch everyday (and dinner on Monday night as well!). Cecily helped with set-up every morning to earn community service hours for Lion's Heart. On Wednesday, Papa and Grandma brought Great Grandma down to visit. Friday, Cecily and her new friend Paris walked to Juice It Up and Dairy Queen for an after school treat.

UC Irvine Soccer 10-16-16
After picking up our CHOC Walk shirts and wristbands, we headed to UC Irvine for a family soccer day with Cecily's soccer team. The girls got to walk on the field with the UC Irvine players, forming a tunnel for the players to enter the field through. Once the game was over, the players signed a poster for all the kids. It was a fun experience.

Yoga & Tennis 10-11-16
Cecily has been wanting to try the free ivivva classes on Sunday, so this week, we took Taylor with us so they could do morning yoga. The girls had a good time, and we did a little shopping afterwards. Later in the day, Cecily had her Lion's Heart meeting. Then she and Paige played with her cousins at Harbour View Park.

Cecily's tennis skills are coming along nicely, as she has been enjoying her semi-private classes. There are two other girls in her group - one from Mesa View and one from Dwyer (who knows Paige!).

Soccer Game 10-08-16
Cecily's soccer team played another top team in their league this week (En Fuego), who was also undefeated with many goals. But our team came on strong and dominated on their half of the field with many shots on goal. However, late in the fourth quarter, we let them score and ended with a 0-1 loss.

Soccer Game 10-01-16
After refereeing a U8 girls game in the morning, we headed to Cecily's soccer game vs. the Troublemakers. They were one of the top teams in our league and had been winning with lots of goals. Our girls played so well that we stopped them from making any goals in our game, which you could see really frustrated the players as well as their parents. We held them off and tied 0-0 even though we did have a lot of shots on goal. Cecily ended up playing almost every position this game (forward for about 2 minutes to replace an injured girl, one quarter of mid-field, and the rest at defense).
