Saturday, we started out at Bella Terra for some shopping before heading down to Balboa Pier for dinner at Ruby's. On Sunday, we took Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Otto to have tea. They loved watching the sunset from the park near our house.

Legoland 05-27-11
Grandpa Otto and Grandma Lynn came to visit us for Memorial Day weekend. On Friday, we took them to Legoland. It was great to see the new Star Wars miniland.

Last Daisy Meeting 05-25-11
We had our last Girl Scout meeting of the school year today. The girls put together a dinner of lasagna and salad to take to Colette's Home, a women's and children's shelter. They also made a fun wooden daisy shaped jewelry box with their initials on top. The girls can't wait to officially kick off their Brownie troop next school year.

Sealife Aquarium 05-22-11
We took our friends Isobel, Ted, and Trish down to the Sealife Aquarium. The kids enjoyed looking at the sea creatures, watching a Lego Atlantis movie, and touching the sea stars. They loved making their own pressed penny souvenir at the end.

Pelican Pride & GS Bridging 05-20-11
Today at the Pelican Pride assembly, Cecily got an award for writing. She works hard at school and loves getting awards from her teacher.
In the evening, we had a Girl Scout Bridging Ceremony where Cecily went from being a Daisy Girl Scout to being a Brownie Girl Scout.

Disney Day 05-18-11
We headed to California Adventure and Disneyland after school with our friends Olivia, Nicolette, and Bridgette. We hadn't been in California Adventure in so long, and it was strange seeing all the new construction. The kids had fun going on the rides and stopping by to see Ann at Disney Studio 365.

Dana Point Field Trip 05-13-11
We headed down to Dana Point for the Ocean Institute field trip. The kids loved walking on the beach and rocks looking for shells and crabs. They learned about ocean life and got to touch star fish and sea snails. Can't believe Cecily only has one month left in first grade!

Angie, Teacher Appreciation, & Daisy Tea 05-11-11
Angie came to visit for a couple days. Her first night here, we had dinner at RA Sushi in downtown HB, then headed to downtown SB to get dessert and watch the sunset. 05-09-11
The next day, we shopped at Bella Terra, had lunch in downtown HB and sat on the beach to enjoy the day, then we headed down to Balboa for dinner at Newport Landing before taking the ferry over to the island. 05-10-11
Wednesday morning, we had breakfast in Downtown Disney before Caren dropped her off at the train station at Angel Stadium. 05-11-11
Our day actually started off with Teacher Appreciation Day at school. We created a poster to hang outside Cecily's teacher's door. Each kid filled out a cut-out dog as to why Mrs. Ashley is so dog-gone-good.
After school, our Daisy Troop headed to the Fairy Tea Cottage for a Tea Party in celebration of our great job at cookie sales. The owner/waitress was very rude to the girls and parents, but luckily the girls did not notice. After our tea, we headed across the street to the park to hand out the cookie selling prizes.

Softball Closing Ceremony 05-07-11
We had our Softball Closing Ceremony today. The girls got medals and yearbooks, and they took turns signing each others yearbooks and jerseys. Cecily had a lot of fun playing softball this season.

Alexsia's Birthday Party 05-01-11
We celebrated Alexsia's 7th birthday at her Alice in Wonderland theme party at Pretend City. They had an amazing balloon artist that made Alice, the Cheshire Cat, and the Queen of Hearts out of balloons! Cecily got a balloon tree with a monkey. After having tea sandwiches and cake, we headed into the museum. Cecily loved going around to the different buildings, working, and collecting stamps. The best part was using her time card to get pretend money from the ATM.
