Thursday evening Cecily had her first tennis lesson. We had signed up with Paige, but once at the courts we learned that Cecily's friend, Emily, from Girl Scouts was also in this class. Palm Springs 06-27-16

Cecily was invited to go to Palm Springs with Paige's family for a few days to celebrate Paige's birthday with her family. They left Friday afternoon and came home Monday night. Last Day of School 06-22-16

Today was the last day of 6th grade! Yesterday they had a short day, so Caren took the carpool kids to get donuts to celebrate the end of school. After school today, Cecily helped Kaitlyn celebrate her birthday with lunch at My Italian Kitchen and then saw "Finding Dory." For the first day of summer, Caren took Cecily out to lunch before heading to Humboldt Beach to test out her new paddleboard. Cecily ended the day with a dip in the pool with Allie. http://

Pretend City 06-20-16

Cecily was excited to volunteer at Pretend City to earn community service hours for Lion's Heart. Caren stayed and helped too so Cecily would feel more comfortable. They helped serve dinner at a members only preview event of the new Superhero exhibit. We ended up serving pizza with two boys, Brandon and Diego, who were also from Huntington Beach and in the boys Lion's Heart group. They go to Mesa View and knew some of Cecily's friends there. Father's Day 06-19-16

Happy Father's Day! Friday night, we headed to ivivva so Cecily could make Richard a Father's Day keychain. On Saturday, Caren took Cecily to Toys R Us to build Richard a special Lego trophy. Marine View Awards Night 06-16-16

We were invited to a special awards night at Marine View because Cecily was receiving an award. We did not know what she was getting until we arrived at the event and looked at the program. Cecily ended up with the 6th Grade Award of Merit (for earning straight A's the entire school year), the 6th Grade Band Award, and a 6th Grade Language Arts Award. We took her out for ice cream at Coldstone afterwards to celebrate. Tennis Clinic 06-14-16

Paige's Concert 06-11-16

Friday afternoon, Caren and Cecily played some tennis with Paige and Conrad at Peter Green Park. On Saturday, Caren took Cecily to Bella Terra to see Paige perform in a Queen concert. Lion's Heart 06-05-16

Cecily and Paige joined the Lion's Heart organization, which is a service group for teens. They encourage kids to become volunteers and help out through community service. For their first year, Cecily was voted into the Historian position while Paige was Secretary. GS Horseback Riding 06-04-16

For our end of the year activity, we took our Girl Scout troop horseback riding and then to dinner at Farrell's. The girls learned about grooming and saddling a horse, made a horse craft, washed a horse, and of course rode a horse. Even though the day was really hot, we were lucky we went later in the afternoon and most of their activities were in the shade. After we finished with the horses, we headed to Farrell's for dinner and ice cream to end the day. Paige's Birthday Party 06-03-16

Cecily was invited to spend the night at the Hilton for Paige's 12th birthday party. The girls had fun swimming, watching a Hawaiian show, staying up late in the hotel room, eating room service for breakfast, and swimming some more. Apple Store 06-01-16

Cecily's Girl Scout Troop took a field trip to the Apple Store at South Coast Plaza to earn their Digital Movie Making Badge. The girls split into small groups to make their own short videos in the mall. Each kid received a shirt and a thumb drive bracelet, and they had a blast learning how to use imovie.
