Merry Christmas 12-25-07

Merry Christmas! We spent Christmas up in Pasadena with Caren's family. Cecily was excited to get her presents from Santa, and she had a FABULOUS time with her new best friend, Catherine (Caren's cousin).

Christmas at School 12-21-07

On Wednesday December 19, Cecily's preschool had a Christmas potluck and ornament exchange. The ornament exchange did not go so well, as the kids did not understand the concept. Some kids were crying because they wanted to have "their" ornament back to take home instead of the new one they received. Today was the all-school Christmas program for the kids from the preschool up to the 8th grade. Cecily's class did a great job, and they were all so cute! Legoland 12-14-07

After school, we took Cecily down to Legoland. We went on the Coast Cruise, Cecily posed with Thomas the Train and a Lego shark, and we enjoyed some blue ice cream.

Then, we did a little Christmas shopping at the Carlsbad Outlet Center.

Surprisingly, neither Legoland or the Outlets was very crowded.

Playgroup Pajama Party 12-12-07

After school today, Cecily had her Playgroup Holiday Pajama Party at her friend Tomi's house. The kids (and some moms) wore their pajamas and helped celebrate Jordyn's little sister, Maya's first birthday.

Santa at School 12-11-07

Santa made a surprise visit to Cecily's preschool. All the kids got to sit on Santa's lap for a picture, and he gave each of them a small gift.

Megan's Birthday Party 12-09-07

Cecily went to her first birthday party for a friend from school today. She helped her friend Megan celebrate her 3rd birthday at the Little Gym. Cecily had a FABULOUS time! She had so much fun on the gym equipment, and she listened so well to directions during the group time. Cecily along with two other girls (Laira and Keilani) were the only ones invited from school.

Happy Birthday Richard!

Richard got to spend all day watching football, while Caren took Cecily out of the house.

Then, we celebrated with a yummy dinner at Claim Jumper.

Sunday Brunch 11-25-07

While Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Otto were visiting, we had a delicious brunch at Five Crowns in Corona Del Mar. After lunch, we took a walk to enjoy the view of the ocean. Then we went to Harriet Wieder Park so Cecily could play.

Legoland 11-24-07

Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Otto came to visit from Phoenix, so we took them for a trip down to Legoland. While we were down in San Diego, we met up with Richard's cousin Heidi and her family for dinner at Spaghetti Factory.

Happy Thanksgiving 11-22-07

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a lovely buffet lunch/dinner at the Clubhouse in South Coast Plaza with Grandpa Dean, Grandma Shirley, Uncle Allen, and Cindy. It was great since no one had to cook or wash dishes. In the evening, Cecily had a snack using her Thanksgiving placemat that she had made at school with her turkey handprints.

Cecily was in her very first school program today. Carden had their annual Thanksgiving Program for the preschoolers up to the 8th grade. Cecily did a fantastic job on stage!

Happy Birthday Caren! 11-15-07

Happy Birthday Caren! When Richard got home from work, we headed to Disneyland to celebrate Caren's birthday with a stay at the Paradise Pier Hotel. We got to enjoy the Concierge Lounge and see all the Christmas decorations at Disneyland and California Adventure.

Playgroup Thanksgiving 11-14-07

After school, Cecily went to her Playgroup Thanksgiving Potluck Party. They had fun playing outside (it was hot!), eating ice cream, and doing a handprint turkey craft.

Centennial Farm 11-07-07

After school today, Cecily and Caren met their playgroup friends at Centennial Farm. The kids really enjoyed seeing all the farm animals. They got to pet the sheep and cows as well as run around the growing vegetables.

Happy Halloween 10-31-07

Happy Halloween! After school today, Cecily and Caren went to the Pumpkin Patch with their playgroup friends. Cecily would not wear her costume, but she did put on an orange pumpkin shirt. The kids had fun with the pumpkins and rides, especially riding the ponies and petting the animals. After dinner, we went trick or treating. Cecily decided she wanted everyone to be Woody. So we all put on Woody costumes and went trick or treating.

Halloween Fun 10-26-07

Yesterday, Cecily's preschool had a special Halloween Carnival for the kids. They got to dress up in their costumes and do lots of fun activities. Cecily decided to wear her Buzz Lightyear pajamas as her costume. Here she is with her best friend, Laira.

Cecily attended her playgroup Halloween party after school today. They got to decorate cupcakes and do a ghost footprint craft. Some of the kids even wore their Halloween costumes.

Mickey's Halloween Treat 10-19-07

After school on Friday, we picked up Cecily and went to Disneyland to check out some of the Halloween decorations. Since we would be going to Mickey's Halloween Treat at night, we decided to stay at the Disneyland Hotel. When we went to check-in, Cecily wanted to find Emily since the last time we were there, Emily and Hayden were staying at the hotel. After we checked-in, we took the monorail into Disneyland. We rode Winnie the Pooh, met Woody and Jessie at Woody's Halloween Round-Up, and watched the Parade of Dreams. Then we headed back to the hotel to enjoy the Concierge Lounge with our friends Paige and Dawn who also spent the night at the hotel with us.

After we had dinner, we changed into our costumes and headed to meet up with our friends at California Adventure for Mickey's Halloween Treat. We dressed up as the Round-Up Gang with Richard as Woody, Caren as Bullseye, and Cecily as Jessie. Dawn was the Queen of Hearts and Paige was Alice in Wonderland. Inside California Adventure, we trick-or-treated, took pictures with Disney characters, and rode some rides. Cecily's friends also dressed up: Tomi was JoJo, her brother Jack was Goliath, John was a kangaroo, his brother Jack was a lion, Jordyn was Belle, and Mollie was Ariel. We weren't able to find her other friends Emma, Ted, and Isobel.

Cecily had so much fun that she zonked out before the night was over. We took some pictures with characters before heading back to our hotel room.

Today, we got up bright and early to enjoy the early entry feature of our hotel stay. Richard got to sleep in while Caren, Cecily, Dawn, and Paige took the monorail into Disneyland. They skipped the LONG Nemo line by watching the ride in the Alternative Viewing Room. Then, they went on Dumbo, King Arthur's Carousel, the Tea Cups, Casey Jr. Circus Train, and Storybook Land Boats before heading back to the hotel in the front cabin of the monorail with the monorail captain.

Later in the afternoon, we enjoyed a free luau at our apartment complex. They served a buffet of delicious Hawaiin food and provided hula dancers for entertainment.

New Classroom 10-15-07

Cecily moved up to her new classroom today. She went from the 2-3 year old room to the 3-4 year old room. Her and her new friend, Laira, moved up together. She will get to do more fun desk activities like coloring, painting, and cutting in her new class. Here is Cecily with her new teacher, Ms. Walker.

Legoland Brick or Treat 10-13-07

Brick or Treat! We went down to Legoland today so Cecily can trick or treat at the Legoland Brick or Treat trail. She LOVES trick or treating, and she even put on her Jessie costume.

Pumpkin Patch 10-06-07

We visited Pa's Pumpkin Patch today to kick off the start of the Halloween season. Cecily LOVES the pumpkin patch. She had fun running through the rows of pumpkins and picking something out to take home (although it really wasn't a pumpkin).

Universal Studios 09-29-07

We took Cecily on her first trip to Universal Studios today. Conrad, Dawn, and Paige joined us as well. We saw SpongeBob Squarepants, Dora, Diego, Shrek, Spiderman, and the Simpsons. Even though they have watched them before, Cecily and Paige did not want their pictures taken with most of the characters. Cecily thought the Shrek 4D and Waterworld show were a little too scary. She liked the tram studio tour except for the parts where we met King Kong and felt an earthquake. Cecily and Paige had a blast in the Nick Jr. Playground though.

Disney Day 09-25-07

Richard, Caren, and Cecily ate a yummy breakfast at Disneyland this morning then enjoyed some rides. Later that afternoon, Cecily went on a quick car trip with her friend Paige to pick up a big girl bed for her. Then they had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Yum!

California Adventure 08-17-07

Cecily and Caren spent a few hours at California Adventure today. They rode the Monster's Inc. ride, played in the Animation building, toured the Mission Tortilla Factory, and had some yummy lunch. Later with Richard, they took a walk to the grocery store where Cecily played with a dolphin statue.
