Disneyland 09-30-08

After school we went to Disneyland again to take advantage of our annual passes. Unfortunately, it was a hot and semi-crowded day for being in the off season. We went with our playgroup friends Kayla and Gina. The girls got to take pictures with Minnie Mouse in her Halloween witch costume. Then we rode Peter Pan and the Carousel before heading over to the Princess Fantasy Faire to color and hear a lovely story from Snow White. We tried to go to Mickey Mouse's house in Toon Town, but Kayla was afraid to go inside, so we went to Minnie's house instead. Back in Fantasyland, the girls got to meet Alice in Wonderland, ride the Tea Cups, and ride the Storybook Boats. We passed through Woody's Halloween Round-Up and watched the show before having dinner at the Riverbelle Terrace. Unfortunately, the ride on the Tea Cups didn't agree with Kayla, and she threw up her dinner. But after that, she felt a lot better. The girls played in the Main Street Fire Station before we headed home.

Disney Day 09-25-08

After school, Caren took Cecily to Disneyland. It was hot, but at least it was not too crowded. We started off with a ride on Peter Pan because Cecily's best friend from school, Laira, had been talking about it. Then we rode Casey Junior Circus Train before heading over to California Adventure for some ice cream. While we were there, we grabbed some tortillas from the Tortilla Factory, rode Heimlich's Chew Chew Train, and enjoyed the Animation Building with the Turtle Talk and Drawn to Animation shows. Cecily did a really good job trying to follow the animator and draw her own Goofy. We watched the Pixar Play Parade and then headed back to Disneyland to see Tarzan's treehouse. Then we both had our first ever ride on the Mark Twain Riverboat. Finally, we ended the day with a ride on the carousel and watching the Parade of Dreams before heading home.

Legoland 09-19-08

After school, we took Cecily down to Legoland for our annual Ambassador Building Session. Cecily had fun helping to build a Lego tower. When we were done, we rode the new ride, Lost Kingdom Adventure (kind of similar to the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disneyland). Then we went over to check out the fish at the Sealife Aquarium next door.

Disneyland 09-16-08

After school, we went to Disneyland with Amy and Chloe. We started out with a yummy lunch at the Carnation Cafe. Then we rode Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and Finding Nemo Submarines before heading over to the Princess Fantasy Faire. The girls enjoyed coloring and listening to Princess Jasmine tell a story. Then we went on the Storybook Land Boats before heading home.

Northrop Grumman Family Day 09-13-08

We went to Richard's Open House Family Day at Northrop Grumman this afternoon. We enjoyed BBQ beef & chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, popcorn, and ice cream for lunch. Cecily got to make her own Northrop Grumman ID badge and ride a pink elephant before Richard took us on a tour of his building and office.

Disney Day 09-12-08

After school, Caren took Cecily to Disneyland for the afternoon since they had not gone since July. Cecily had so much fun watching the Parade of Dreams at Disneyland and the Pixar Play Parade at California Adventure. She was so excited to see her favorite princess Cinderella three times today (when we entered Disneyland, in the Parade of Dreams, and storytelling at the Princess Fantasy Faire). We visited Mickey in his house and rode three rides (Monster's Inc, King Triton's Carousel, and the Sun Wheel). The weather was great and the summer crowds were gone.

Playgroup Beach Day 09-10-08

Our playgroup enjoyed another beach day at Huntington Beach. Cecily had fun with her friends Kayla, Sean, Bronson, and Nathan playing in the water and the sand. Afterwards, Caren and Cecily went for a quick dip in the pool.

Michael's Birthday Party 09-06-08

We helped celebrate Michael's 4th birthday at his space-themed party. The kids loved the Buzz Lightyear bounce house, and Kimberly made an amazing space ship cake.

Splash Pad 09-03-08

Our playgroup went to the Splash Pad today to enjoy the warm weather. The kids had so much fun playing in the water.

First Day of School 09-02-08

Cecily started her first day of pre-kindergarten today.

This year, her teacher is Miss Nelson.

We can't believe that she will be in kindergarten next year!
