Legoland 04-27-14

The one thing Cecily really wanted to do for her big 10th birthday was to have a few friends spend the night and then go to Legoland. We ended up with only one friend spending the night (Emma), but then we had three friends join us for a day of fun at Legoland (Emma, Emily, and Olivia). We even brought along Flat Olivia for some Lego fun. Caren gave each girl their own mini pink backpack with some Lego treats to carry with them. We rode lots of rides and saw the FunTown Volunteer Firefighter show, before checking out the new Lego Movie Experience. The girls even took their picture with Wild Style. Soccer Game 04-26-14

Today we played Cecily's old coach Mondo's team. His team had Cecily's old teammates Natalie (from Galaxy and Lightning Bolts), Alaina (from Lightning Bolts), and Allison (from Lightning Bolts). Mary, Kate's younger sister, was also on Mondo's team. When we played with the Galaxy, Mary chased after the balls that went out. In our game today when the balls went out, Kate chased after them. The most exciting thing at the game today was that Cecily scored her very first goal ever!!! In the first quarter, there was a penalty kick right outside the goal box. Cecily kicked a beautiful air ball that soared over the goalie's head and into the corner of the goal. It was amazing! Even though we lost because Mondo's team was really good, Cecily finally scored a goal! For her prize, Cecily got an awesome giant blue owl from Justice. Whooooo scored a goal? Alexsia's Birthday & Boat Ride 04-25-14

Happy 10th Birthday to Alexsia! Cecily had a blast jumping at her party at the Get Air Trampoline Park. The kids LOVED her theme of Pet Adoption, and they were so excited to "adopt" a dog to take home. Caren had to run to get to the night out harbour cruise with other Harbour View parents, so Cecily went home with Alexsia to watch her open presents. From the birthday party, Caren headed straight to the house two doors down from her friend Denise to catch the boat for the harbour cruise. She had so much fun with her friends as they enjoyed drinks and dinner on board the boat as it cruised through Huntington Harbour. Girl Scouts Park Avenue 04-23-14

We had our annual Girl Scout field trip hosted by Earth Friendly Products today to Park Avenue in Stanton. The girls got a tour of the organic garden with the chef and owner of Park Avenue. Easter 04-20-14

Happy Easter! Cecily got to open her Easter baskets before we headed up to have brunch at Almansor Court with Grandma, Papa, Uncle Allen, Aunt Cindy, Brendan, and Quinn. Cindy got Cecily a very special birthday present because it was her big double-digit birthday - her very first Tiffany's box with a beautiful heart necklace. Cecily can't wait to help pick out a special present at Tiffany's for when Quinn turns 10. At Almansor Court, we ran into a random Easter Bunny, so Cecily and Brendan had a very cute photo op. After taking some family pictures, we went over to Grandma and Papa's house for an egg hunt for Cecily and Brendan. Happy Birthday Cecily 04-19-14

Happy 10th Birthday to Cecily! We can't believe she is ten years old today! Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Otto came to visit to help celebrate her big birthday. In the morning, Cecily had her soccer game, which her team won 6-2. It was such a great game. Today also happened to be Cecily's soccer coach's birthday too so we celebrated with mini brownie cupcakes for the whole team. Egg Hunt 04-15-14

We had our annual egg hunt at John Baca Park today, which ended up being two egg hunts. Cindy came down with Brendan and Quinn for our first egg hunt with Isobel and Paige. Then after Cindy and Trish left, we had another egg hunt with Emma and Paige. Easter Bunny 04-13-14

We went to Bella Terra to see the Easter Bunny and to enjoy their Easter festivities. There were food samples from a new gelato place, Costco cake, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory apples, and fudge. The kids colored bunny masks and paper eggs, before getting their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny. They also had a balloon artist and face painter, but the kids didn't want to wait in the line. They did, however, wait in line to pet the cute little bunnies. Once inside the petting area, they each got to hold a little bunny too. Cecily's Birthday Party & Soccer 04-12-14

Caren had a lot going on with volunteering at school and was behind in planning Cecily's 10th birthday party. It came together somewhat last minute, but turned out great. We took 18 of Cecily's friends to see the just released "Rio 2" at Bella Terra. We had a whole theater to ourselves which the kids loved. Since it was so early in the morning, Cecily wanted to have donuts instead of cupcakes. Caren created a donut cake so we could sing happy birthday to Cecily before the movie. The kids enjoyed snack packs during the movie with their choice of drinks, popcorn, and Rio fruit snacks. After the movie party, we raced over to Cecily's soccer game. Michelle came down to see Cecily play and to celebrate her birthday. Mission & Girl Scouts 04-09-14

Cecily finished her report on the Santa Barbara Mission so she turned it in a day early along with her mission made of Lego. Today was Teacher of the Day at Harbour View. Emma was the principal of the day, Sophia was Cecily's teacher for the day, and Scarlett was the librarian for the day. After school, we had our Girl Scout Meeting. Soccer & Family 04-05-14

We happened to play our neighbor's soccer team today. Cecily was excited to know Ella was on the other team. She also knew Eva and Ann Kathrin from school too. Our girls played really well and won their very first game! It was so exciting. HV Band 04-03-14

Today was Cecily's first day of band. The kids went to test out the instruments offered (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, and trombone). Cecily was so focused on only playing the flute, that she did not try out any of the other instruments. Alexsia and Sophia were also interested in the flute as well.
