After school, we took Cecily to Disneyland to check out the start of the Halloween season. We rode into the park on the Monorail. Richard and Cecily watched the parade while Caren went to get a fastpass for Haunted Mansion. We rode Small World, visited First Aid for some band aids, ate cotton candy, saw the big Mickey head pumpkin, rode the train, rode Haunted Mansion, and finally took the monorail back out to Downtown Disney to have dinner at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. We enjoyed seafood chowder, catfish with shrimp, ribs, macaroni and cheese, crawfish mashed potatoes, and bread pudding. It was all so delicious!

Disneyland 09-30-11

AYSO Picnic 09-25-11
Today was AYSO Picture Day along with their annual picnic. We took our team picture in the morning, then we got to enjoy the fun food and games at the picnic. Cecily and Sophia had some Italian ice before going on some slides and playing games. They had a lot of fun together.

Soccer Game 09-24-11
Our team played the Blue Flames today. The girls were doing such a great job at improving their soccer skills. But the other team had one girl that dominated their whole team, and she ended up scoring on us during the last quarter. After the game, we took Cecily to Michael's to do a fun American Girl craft. Cecily brought along Felicity in her own soccer uniform to join us. Then, Caren and Cecily went to watch Ted and Bronson play their soccer game as well as Isobel's soccer game.

Beach Bonfire 09-23-11
We had our annual End of the Summer Beach Bonfire with our playgroup friends at Bolsa Chica Beach. We thought it would be too cold to go in the water, but all the kids loved getting wet. Everyone enjoyed hot dogs, fruit, chips, and potato salad for dinner before making smores over the bonfire. We had such a great turnout, and all the kids had so much fun!

Soccer Game 09-17-11
Our second soccer game of the season was super exciting. The girls played so well, and two of them (Ava and Katie) scored a goal! We won 2 to 0, so the girls had a great confidence booster. Watching Cecily play, she seemed to have more of a defender way of playing. She loved to kick the ball up towards the goal, but then hung back to defend our side of the field. She was enjoying developing her soccer skills and having fun with her team.

Disneyland 09-16-11
While Cecily was in school, Richard and Caren took a quick trip to Disneyland to check out the first day of Halloween decorations. We rode Matterhorn, Thunder Mountain, and the Halloween version of Space Mountain (Ghost Galaxy). Then we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen.

First Soccer Game 09-10-11
The Purple Musketeers had their first game today against the Blue Bombers. The other team had some rather large girls that the parents were joking needed to have her birth certificate checked. Our girls played a great game, keeping up with the bigger team. But they couldn't stop their huge air kicks and big throw ins. Hopefully, we will have a more even team to play against next week.

First Day of School 09-07-11
Today was the first day of second grade for Cecily. She thought her teacher, Mrs. Panek, looked like her favorite gymnastics coach, Coach Kate. She was very excited to start school, especially since her BFF Presley is in the same class. After school, we had a picnic at the school playground with her friends from her kindergarten class (Danielle, Emily, Alexsia, Nicolette, Sinead, and Charlize) since the girls were all split up into different second grade classes. For dinner, we headed to Chuck E. Cheese for our annual First Day of School Celebration with our playgroup friends. The school year is off to a great start!

Labor Day Sleepover 09-05-11
Sunday morning, Cecily went swimming at Emma's pool with Kayla, Sean, and Tomi. Then we headed to McDonald's so the girls could play. They didn't want to stop playing, and after spending the night at Nicolette's house, Cecily couldn't wait to sleep over at Tomi's house. Kayla and Cecily did great sleeping over. Brandy got some cute photos of the girls since Caren couldn't be there with her camera. Then we all hung out at Brandy's house for a yummy Labor Day BBQ.

Discovery Science Center 09-01-11
We were invited to a special VIP grand opening for the Eco Challenge exhibit at the Discovery Science Center. After enjoying breakfast and watching the ribbon cutting ceremony, the girls got to enjoy the fun exhibit by shopping and learning about how to be eco-friendly. They were interviewed on camera and had their pictures taken for the OC Register. When they were finished with the Eco Challenge exhibit, they explored the rest of the museum. Then we headed to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. Cecily even got to have her very first official sleepover at Nicolette's house!
