New Year's Eve 12-31-08

We went to a festive family New Year's Eve party at Brandy's house. The kids had fun dressing up and playing Wii with the dads. We celebrated the new year at 8:00 for the kids with party hats, streamers, and horns. Then we drove home in the heaviest fog we had ever seen. We were so tired when we got home, that we went to bed at 10:30. We're getting old!

We spent the evening at Chuck E. Cheese with Brandy, Tomi, and Jack. We haven't been there in a while, so Cecily was extremely excited to be there to play with her friend Tomi.

Merry Christmas 12-25-08

Merry Christmas!!! We had a nice day at Grandma and Papa's house. We opened presents in the morning, and Cecily got to play with her new toys with Papa and Grandma. She loved her new choo choo trains and Princess blanket from Santa. She tested out her new Princess oven from Aunt Christina, Uncle Doug, Emily, Hayden, and Austin. She read her new Tea Party book from Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Otto. She dressed-up in her new Snow White dress from Mommy and Daddy. Cecily LOVED Christmas!

Christmas Eve 12-24-08

We packed up all our presents from under our tree in our home on Christmas Eve and drove up to Grandma and Papa's house. When we got to Pasadena, Cecily made a gingerbread train with Cindy. We had a delicious home cooked prime rib dinner before opening a few presents with Uncle Allen and Aunt Cindy. Cecily left out some yummy cookies with milk for Santa. She can't wait for Christmas morning!

Disney Day 12-12-08

After school, we took Cecily to Disneyland to see Santa. She was so excited to see him and tell him what she wanted for Christmas. Since we just were in Hawaii, the weather here was a big shock. We didn't realize how cold it was at night! Disneyland was super crowded, so after we saw Santa and a snow show at the castle, we headed over to California Adventure. We rode Heimlich's Chew Chew Train, the Golden Zephyr, Monster's Inc., and Cecily took her very first flight on Soarin' Over California which she was finally tall enough for. She LOVED it!

Home 12-10-08

We are finally home today after our 2 week trip to Hawaii and back. The ship had a good mix of people, and Cecily really enjoyed her "boat school" where she got to do lots of fun crafts. The sea days were a little rough going out to Hawaii. Our first stop was Hilo where we took a tour to Volcano National Park and the Moana Loa Macademia Nut Factory. Our next stop was Honolulu where we rented a car and drove to see the USS Missouri, Dole Plantation, North Shore, and Germaine's Luau to celebrate Richard's birthday. After Honolulu, we stopped in Kauai where we took a Fern Grotto River Cruise and saw waterfalls. Cecily got to play on a big playground that was similar to the one in Santa Barbara. Our last stop was Lahaina, Maui where we took a snorkel trip. Cecily did not like the salty sea water, but Richard and Caren got to snorkel and see fish and sea turtles. It was a fabulous vacation!
