Athena's Birthday Party 11-30-11

We went to Brewbakers to celebrate Athena's 7th birthday. The kids got to make their own pretzels and rootbeer. They had fun rolling out the dough to shape their own pretzel and mixing the rootbeer by kicking the big silver barrel.

Beach Pictures 11-26-11

We took pictures on the beach for our Christmas card this year. Cecily's tooth had just fallen out the day before, so it made the pictures more special with her gap toothed smile. It was hard to catch the good lighting, but we were able to get some great sunset shots. Plus, it was extremely low tide which added to the beauty of the background.

She can't wait for the Tooth Fairy to come tonight!

Happy Thanksgiving 11-24-11

Happy Thanksgiving!
We headed up to Pasadena to spend time with Papa, Grandma, Uncle Allen, Aunt Cindy, and Brendan. Cecily had a hard time eating because her extremely wiggly tooth was bothering her, but she still enjoyed the yummy turkey, gravy, and pumpkin pie.

Legoland 11-22-11

On our second day of Thanksgiving break, we took Tomi, Jack, and Brandy to Legoland to check out the new snow. We rode the Fairy Tale boats, flew on the helicopters, watched the firefighter show, played in the snow (went sledding down a small hill and made snowballs to throw), ate ice cream, played in the big castle playground, rode Beetle Bounce, flew on the airplanes, went down the big slide, spun on the Bionnicle ride, and took pictures with the Lego Santa and reindeer. It wasn't too crowded, and we all had a great time.

Happy Feet Two 11-21-11

For the first day of Thanksgiving break, we went to see the new Happy Feet Two with Paige and Dawn. Cecily loved hearing Pink's voice as Gloria, the mama penguin. Her favorite character was Gloria and Mumble's son, Erik. After the movie, we went to lunch at Burger King where the girls got Happy Feet Two toys with their kids meals. They also had fun in the play place.

Special Person Day 11-16-11

Cecily's school had Special Person Day, and she invited Michelle to come be her Special Person. She loved having Michelle watch her performance and check out her classroom. We went out to Red Table (the new restaurant by Trader Joe's) to benefit the school through a fundraiser and to celebrate Caren's birthday.

Happy Birthday Caren 11-15-11

Happy Birthday, Caren!
After school, we went to Disneyland to enjoy the last day of our annual passes and to see Santa. While visiting Santa, we also saw Pluto and the reindeer at the Big Thunder Ranch. Cecily did some coloring before we went to watch the Christmas Fantasy Parade. We ate a yummy Monte Cristo sandwich for dinner and had a Jack Skellington chocolate mousse cake for dessert at Cafe Orleans. Then we headed over to California Adventure where we rode Soarin' Over California, the Little Mermaid twice in a row (we were the last ones off that ride for the evening when they closed the park), and watched World of Color for the very first time.

Disneyland 11-14-11

We were invited to a special Disney Annual Passholder evening at Disneyland. Cecily was the star student for the week in her class and had Henry the Hippo to take around, so we brought him with us. We went to Disneyland early to catch the fireworks before the park closed for the special passholder event. After watching it snow on Main Street, we rode Buzz Lightyear, Small World, Tea Cups, and Haunted Mansion. They had some really cool character photo ops (Country Bears, Aladdin and Jasmine with the Genie and Abu, Scrooge McDuck, and Santa and Mrs. Claus with elves), but the lines were ridiculously long. We couldn't stay out late because Richard had to get up early for work and Cecily had school the next day.

Soccer & Junie B. Jones 11-12-11

This morning was our last soccer game of the season for the Purple Musketeers. We played the team that scored 11 goals on us last time. Luckily they didn't score as many this time, but they did score a lot. The Purple Musketeers still had a fun season.
After gymnastics, we headed over to Alexsia's house to pick them up for our theater date. They were filming the movie "A Green Story" at their house. We walked by Ed O'Ross who plays Alexsia's grandpa, Van, in the movie on the way into the house. Cecily got to meet the little girl, Talia Jackson, who plays Alexsia. Then we headed out to the OC Performing Arts Center to see Junie B. Jones on stage. After the show, we had dinner at Anqi before walking around South Coast Plaza to check out the Christmas decorations. When we dropped Kelly and Alexsia off at home, they walked us over to Van's house where the filming had moved. We got to watch them film a scene with Ed O'Ross and Annabella Sciorra on the back deck, the same spot we will be in December for their Boat Parade party.

P!nk on Rove LA 11-10-11

Caren and Cindy went to see a live taping of Rove LA, a talk show with an Austrailian host. It was filmed at the CBS studio next to the Grove. Luckily, because Rove is not well-known in the U.S., they had no problems getting tickets and getting into the studio for the taping. They went to see the show because P!nk was one of the guests. The tickets stated the show started at 5:30. They got to the studio around 5 and left at about 8:30. They had a lot of fun and can't wait to see it aired on rove.tv on the internet. Cecily was jealous that they got to see P!nk, so Caren promised to take Cecily to a P!nk concert the next time she tours.

Brownie Meeting 11-09-11

At our Brownie meeting today, we packed up the box with all the goodies the troop made and collected for our Washington pen-pals, the girls made fleece blankets for Project Linus, and the girls also made Thankful Trees to take home and share with their families.
