Halloween 10-31-17

Happy Halloween! Richard and Cecily were both sick for a couple days, but luckily Cecily recovered enough to go trick or treating with friends on Humboldt Island. Before trick or treating, Cecily met up with her friend Sydney who had a coordinating costume. Since they weren't trick or treating together, they wanted to take some photos together to show off their costume theme, Monsters Inc., with Cecily as Sulley and Sydney as Boo. Soccer Game & Party 10-28-17

The HB Strikers played the Santa Ana Galaxies (Region 517 Coach Velasco) this morning. It was a good game until the last half when one of their players got a red card for using profanity on the field (after she pushed over one of our girls). Mondo was our center ref, and he said it was the first card he had ever given out in a rec game. Luckily, we still won 3-1. http://pix.sfly.com/kdPJCV

MV Haunted Hallway 10-23-17

As part of the ASB Leadership class, Cecily helped with the In-N-Out and Haunted Hallway event at Marine View to kick off Red Ribbon Week on Monday. The burgers were delicious, and the kids enjoyed the Haunted Hallway. We left a little early so Cecily could go try out for the soccer All-Star team. Lion's Heart 10-22-17

Soccer & Concert 10-21-17

HB Strikers played the Blue Sombreros of Region 55 (Coach Jones) this morning. The Blue Sombreros had a pretty good defense, but our team still won 2-0. http://pix.sfly.com/4fNk4J

After the soccer game, Caren and Cecily headed up to Pasadena to hang out with Michelle. They grabbed some dinner to go before taking the shuttle bus to the Hollywood Bowl for the We Can Survive Concert. They watched Khalid, Sam Hunt, Kesha, Lorde, Sam Smith, surprise guest Niall Horan, Alessia Cara, Macklemore, Harry Styles, and P!nk perform. We went specifically to see P!nk, and she only sang 5 songs. So happy that we got tickets to see her in concert next year!! After spending the night at Michelle's house, we had breakfast with Grandma and Papa at Twohey's before heading home. http://pix.sfly.com/hENECV

Fall Conference Week 10-20-17

It was Fall Parent/Teacher Conference Week. Caren and her friend Audrey worked hard feeding the teachers and staff at Marine View with a waffle bar, meatball subs with salads, teriyaki chicken & rice, bagels/muffins/croissants, taco bar, yogurt & oatmeal, assorted soups, leftover breakfast items, chili & cornbread, donuts, and pizza with salad. Cecily helped with breakfast set-up and lunch clean-up. The puppy got to visit the teachers' lounge twice. Puppy 10-15-17

The person who was supposed to take Madison's puppy backed out, and Madison can't keep the dog at her house. So we decided to test it out and foster the puppy to see how Cecily will prove she can take care of it. Richard liked the name Pepper, and Cecily liked the name Willow. Soccer Game 10-14-17

HB Strikers played Arctic Thunderz from Region 5 (Coach Futris). #5 on the other team played rough and should have been given a yellow card. She got lucky and just got warned a bunch of times. HH Mall Trick or Treat 10-13-17

To celebrate Friday the 13th, Caren and Dawn met for Happy Hour at Red Table while Cecily and Paige volunteered at the Huntington Harbour Trick or Treat Event for Lion's Heart. Cecily ended up working a booth with Ella and Avery, two 7th graders from her school. Then it was off to Tumbling at Scats. http://pix.sfly.com/hs-yDn

Legoland 10-08-17

Angie and Hannah came down to San Diego, so Caren and Cecily met up with them at Legoland. It was Hannah's first time there, and we enjoyed seeing all the Halloween decorations. Cecily can't wait to go up to visit them in Portland soon. http://pix.sfly.com/awh3dK

Soccer & Moon Festival 10-07-17

HB Strikers played the Golden Geese from Region 55 (Coach Dagarin) today. It was a good game, and the goalie on the other team (Emma) was amazing! But we ended up winning 4-2. http://pix.sfly.com/WMtvSu

Knott's Spooky Farm 10-01-17

Can't believe it is already the first day of October! We took Cecily's friend, Emerly, to Knott's to check out the fall and Halloween decorations, including Witch Lucy and Frankenstein Charlie Brown.
