Soccer & Sophia's Birthday 03-29-14

In the morning, Cecily's soccer team, Poison Ivy, played Sinead's soccer team, Lightning Bolts. Cecily's skills have been improving as her big kicks are back, and she was doing a great job of being a defender. In the afternoon, we helped Sophia celebrate her 10th birthday at her cupcake themed birthday party. The girls decorated their own aprons, and they made a "hamburger" cupcake. Character Matters 03-27-14

The fourth grade musical this year was "Character Matters." Mrs. Murdock's class and Miss Long's class performed together for three shows. Caren took pictures at the first two morning shows where it was also filmed to make the DVD for the kids. In the evening, they performed for the parents. Cotillion 03-26-14

Tonight was our last "dress-up" Cotillion. The next official last Cotillion will be the costume Cotillion. Cecily got to dance with Nolan, who was in her second grade class and who also happens to be the son of one of the Offspring. We tried to go to Tsunami's for dinner like we have for the last few Cotillion nights, but Tsunami's was packed with a wait of over an hour. So we tried to go to Roman Cucina, but it was the same with an hour wait. Then we ended up at Fish Camp for dinner. Casino Night 03-22-14

Harbour View had its 20th Annual Casino Night at Meadowlark. This year's theme was Adventure on the High Seas. Cecily's class painted tiles which Alexsia's dad turned into a tiled wagon to auction off for their class art project. Britain's mom won our basket, but since Britain wasn't in Cecily's class she gave us the tiled basket and kept the beach stuff. Cecily went with Caren to Meadowlark in the morning to help set up and decorate. St. Patrick's Day 03-17-14

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Since it was Parent/Teacher Conference week, we had short days all week. So today, we headed to the Sussex Teapot Tearoom with our friends to celebrate with tea for lunch. Soccer Game 03-15-14

Caren and Cecily went to the Huntington Harbour Mall for their St. Patrick's Day scavenger hunt where they ran into Caren's Sigma Kappa alum sister Jennifer with her kids Stella and Hudson. Caren hadn't seen Jennifer since she went to her baby shower for Cecily. It was great to catch up. Then, Papa came down to hang out and watch Cecily's soccer game. Our team played better, but we still lost 0-4 (although we should have had one goal even though the center ref called it offsides). Lazy Dog Field Trip 03-12-14

Our Girl Scout Troop took a field trip to visit Lazy Dog Cafe. They got a tour of the kitchen from the general manager, Gabe, then made their own cheese pizzas for lunch. Gabe told the troop about Lazy Dog's connection with the Girl Scouts through their founder, Chris' daughter, Mollie (who was in our playgroup when Cecily was little). During cookie season, Lazy Dog was serving Thin Mint Shakes and donating a portion of their proceeds to the Girl Scouts of Los Angeles and Orange County. Beach Day 03-09-14

Cookies, Soccer, & Cousins 03-08-14

Cecily had her last cookie booth of the season at Chase. She could only stay an hour with Sophia and Ava, but they did pretty well for the last weekend of cookie sales.

Then we headed over to Cecily's first soccer game of the spring season. Our team, the Poison Ivy, played the Purple Poison. Two girls from Cecily's school, Katherine and Jasmine, were on the other team. Jasmine is in Cecily's class, and Cecily told us she plays soccer with her at recess. Since it was our first game and some girls on our team had never played before, our team started out slow. But they slowly came together and did much better by the end of the game. Because Jasmine had come from a club team, she was their star player and scored most of the goals. But our team fought back scoring two goals. We can see so much potential in our team, so we are looking forward to a great season. Cecily loved having her cousins out for the weekend to see her first soccer game. Talent Show 03-05-14

We went to see the Harbour View Talent Show tonight and support Cecily's friends who were performing in it. Sinead sang a song and then did a dance with Sophia and Alexsia. Madison did a dance with Ryan and Avery. There were two different Cup songs and three different Let It Go songs. The kids had a great time.

Lego Movie 03-02-14

Jordan's Birthday & Suzanne 03-01-14

We drove out to San Bernardino for the afternoon to help celebrate Jordan's first birthday with Gaelen. At first, Cecily didn't want to go in the bounce house. But then she had so much fun bouncing with Jackson that she didn't want to leave. After the party, we headed to Riverside to spend the evening with Suzanne. Cecily had been looking forward to playing with Anna. The two of them even had similar monkey pajamas.
