Campland & Legoland 08-16-15

Thursday morning, we headed down to San Diego for our second annual camping trip with friends at Campland in Mission Bay. On our way down, we stopped at Board & Brew to grab sandwiches for lunch. Then we drove through UCSD to take a picture with the Sun God before heading to Campland. Once we arrived, we set up our tent and headed to the beach and pool. Friday, Richard took all the kids to the beach while Mike rented a Seadoo. Cecily enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding with the other kids. It was a nice, relaxing day, which we ended with our usual campfire and smores. August 14, 2015 http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8UbNGrdw3V6pA

Saturday was another fun day in the sun. Volleyball, beach, kayaking, paddle boarding, Harbour Patrol (just like our Harbour View school beach days!), riding a catamaran for Caren, and beer pong & water pong. It was our night to provide dinner for the group, and we went with an Asian theme: Korean barbecue and teriyaki chicken. Yum! After dinner we had our campfire with smores, watched part of the Sirens Crush concert, and enjoyed the Seaworld fireworks. Sunday was our last day at Campland. We took a group photo before tearing down the tents. Of course, we had to stop by Cotijas to grab burritos for lunch. On the way out of Pacific Beach, we drove by the house Caren lived in during the second half of her junior year and past Mt. Soledad. On our way home from Campland, we stopped by Legoland for our annual session with Lego Master Builders. We showed Richard the new Star Wars Death Star in Miniland before heading over to the Legoland Hotel to build Lego mosaics for Sea Life Aquarium. Cecily made a starfish and turtle, Richard made a fish with a face, and Caren made an anchor. Then we went back into Legoland to show Richard the new Heartlake City area and go on some rides. Allison's Birthday Party 08-11-15

Happy 11th Birthday, Allison! We helped her celebrate with her party at the beach. The kids had fun swimming before we had to leave for Cecily's soccer practice. So excited to have some of the Narwhals back together for the fall season! Disneyland 08-06-15

Since we invited Kelly and Alexsia to go to Legoland on Monday, Kelly invited Cecily to join Alexsia at Disneyland today. They stopped at In-N-Out for lunch on the way, and once they arrived it poured rain. But it didn't last so they were able to enjoy their day there. Cecily really wanted to buy herself mouse ears, and she ended up getting a Minnie ears headband. Caren was so jealous that Cecily got to go to Disneyland! OC Fair 08-05-15

Cecily had been asking when we were going to go to the OC Fair since it started in July. We had to wait for Junior Guards to be done, so we finally went today. Cecily loved seeing the baby animals and was excited to see that the fake cow milking was back. We watched a camel demonstration and the pig races. Soccer & Karey 08-04-15

We had our first soccer practice of the fall season tonight. We are so happy to be back on Coach Mondo's team. Cecily was glad to realize that she knew all the girls on the team except for two. This should be a fun season! Caren left practice early to help celebrate Karey's 40th birthday again with the other moms. Legoland 08-03-15

We had a fun adult evening at Five Crowns celebrating Kelly's birthday. The next morning, Caren and Kelly headed down to Legoland with Cecily and Alexsia. It was crowded, but we still had a great time. Elizabeth & Cole's Birthday Parties 08-01-15

Happy 12th Birthday, Elizabeth! We helped her celebrate at her party at Davenport Beach. The girls had so much fun swimming, paddling, and jumping off the bridge. Happy 8th Birthday, Cole! We had fun at his soccer themed party. They had a bounce house and blow-up soccer game as well as having a Mad Science presentation where the kids got to make their own slime. The Mad Scientists even spun cotton candy for everyone. US Open 07-31-15

We headed back to the US Open again with Nicolette, Olivia, and Bridgette. We happened to walk by the Surfing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on our way to the beach. We enjoyed free hot dogs and hamburgers again for lunch.
