We went to tea this mornig with our friends. Some of us had English breakfast, and some had the traditional tea. The girls had the Princess Tea, with kid sandwiches and their own individual little teapots with lemonade (Cecily had water in hers). Paige was a little rambunctious, but the other girls did great and were very well-behaved. They looked so cute sitting and eating at their own table.
On Tuesday, August 24, Cecily had to have a tooth (molar) pulled. She had a lot of problems with her baby teeth including dead roots and cavities. When we got home from the dentist, there was a Get Well balloon, flowers, and a new package of kids dental floss from her friends Kayla and Sean waiting for her. She was very brave, and she was super excited to have the Tooth Fairy come for the very first time. She had received a Tooth Fairy pillow as a birthday present when she turned 5 and couldn't wait to use it. In the morning, the Tooth Fairy had left her a two dollar bill and a gold dollar coin. Caren also gave Cecily her very own Paul Frank Lego wallet to keep her money in. On Wednesday, August 25, she had to have another molar pulled. Like the day before, she was more excited about the Tooth Fairy coming than worried about the actual extraction. Once again, she left her tooth in the pillow. The next morning she received another two dollar bill and gold dollar coin from the Tooth Fairy. She recovered really quickly and was running around like she didn't have two teeth pulled in two days. What a trooper!
We celebrated Jacob's 6th birthday at his pool party today. Mrs. Pavloff, Jackson, Christian, and Whitney were also there along with Jacob's other friends. The weather was finally warmer so the kids had a great time splashing around in the pool.
We went to Legoland for our annual building session with a Lego Master Builder. This year, we got to build sand castles. After building, we went on a few rides and saw some shows. Cecily loved seeing a few new shows, and she had a great time playing in the water.
Happy 9th Anniversary to us! We spent the day relaxing at home, then headed for a swim at the pool. Cecily went over to Paige's house in the evening so we could have a nice anniversary dinner at Five Crowns. Caren did save some prime rib to bring home for Cecily though.
Caren signed Cecily up for fall AYSO, and Cecily had her very first soccer practice tonight. At first she said she was scared and did not want to participate. (Her friends Alexsia, Sinead, and Sophia were away on vacation) Once we got her to join the other little girls practicing, she had a great time. When practice was over, she said she loved soccer!
We celebrated Haley's 6th birthday at her house with a water slide party. The kids LOVED getting wet and going down the water slide. They also enjoyed coloring their own beach balls. Poor Kayla was afraid of the water slide and didn't want to get wet. She did finally play with the water gun at the end of the party.
Cecily went to her very first baseball game today in Arizona. We got to watch the Arizona Diamondbacks play the San Diego Padres. The kids all got a free back to school kit (pencils, eraser, pencil case, folder), and we watched Emily's cheer group/kids' football league parade around the field before the game started. This baseball stadium was amazing! It had a retractable roof that was closed because of the Arizona heat and had air conditioning! We loved checking out the very cool pool suite (people were really swimming in it!). The kids really enjoyed the Sandlot, where they had a fun playground, coloring station, and small batting field. Now, Cecily can't wait to go check out an Angels game back home.
Cecily was super excited to visit her cousins and grandparents in Phoenix. We arrived late Thursday night after a long drive. On Friday, we did a little shopping and did some fun crafts in preparation for our upcoming Disney Cruise. Saturday morning, the kids built a school bus pencil holder at Home Depot, and later in the afternoon, we all went swimming. The weather has been crazy with rain and thunderstorms!
We went swimming yesterday and today with our friends at the condo pool. Cecily is a little fish, and loved practicing her diving skills (into the pool and under the water). We even tested out the new grill there by barbecuing hot dogs for lunch. The kids really enjoyed the pool now that the weather is finally nice.
