We had a busy day today. The kids started out the morning with a building session at Lowe's, then enjoyed a story time and crafts at the library. We hung out at home and ate bbq carne asada before heading to Downtown Disney where the boys played at the Lego Store while the girls got a makeover at Studio Disney 365.
Cecily was so excited to have her cousins visit from Arizona. Emily had her last day of school yesterday, and they drove out to stay with us for the weekend. After school today, Cecily took Emily to SCATS to try out the gymnastic class. We had dinner at Buca Di Beppo before we headed home so the kids could get ready for bed. Cecily and Emily loved that they had matching pajamas!share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8UbNGrdw3Ukvg
Harbour View had a Volunteer Appreciation celebration this morning. It started with an assembly where the volunteers were acknowledged by grade levels before we all went back to our kids' classrooms to watch a short presentation. Cecily's class sang two songs and recited one poem. Then we went to Pelican Hall were they had a nice breakfast spread for us.
After school, Cecily had her last Daisy Troop meeting of the school year. The girls made a foam picture frame for their group photo and colored bags to take home all their goodies - the foam frames, their painted Daisy plates from their last field trip, and the prizes they earned from selling Girl Scout cookies.

All the kindgarten classes took a field trip to Tanaka Farms in Irvine. They were very excited to ride a bus for the first time. At the farm, we rode a wagon that took us on a tour of the fields where we got to taste fresh picked celery, yellow beans, carrots, green onions, green leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, and butter leaf lettuce. Then we made a stop so the kids could pick their very own basket of strawberries. The moms didn't have a basket, but we were allowed to eat as many strawberries as we wanted to pick. The kids really enjoyed their first official field trip!share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8UbNGrdw3UkjQ
We were invited to have dinner at Suzanne and Greg's new house in Riverside. We loved seeing the finished renovations on their home. Cecily and Anna finally warmed up to each other at the end of the evening and had a lot of fun together.share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8UbNGrdw3Ukcg
Tonight was Open House at Harbour View. Cecily was very excited to show Richard all the stuff she had been working on in school. Her teacher, Mrs. Pavloff, had compiled a beautiful memory book of some of her best work and pictures from every month of the school year. We also walked around the school to see the other classrooms, but Caren and Cecily will be able to thoroughly tour each classroom tomorrow during school with Cecily's class. Cecily was really lucky to get Mrs. Pavloff as her kindergarten teacher!share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8UbNGrdw3UkNg
Since Katie and Nathan were still in town, we met up with our friends at the park. The kids enjoyed running around and playing together. After the park, Cecily and Caren went to their Mommy & Me pottery painting field trip for their Daisy troop. Cecily painted a lovely daisy plate, and Caren got a cool troop leader pin.
Our friends Katie and Nathan were in town, so we went to Legoland for the day with everyone to hang out. The kids had a great time playing and going on the rides together. Ted was excited to have another boy around!share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8UbNGrdw3UkBQ
Today was Teacher Appreciation Day at school. We made Mrs. Pavloff a big poster to show how much the class loves her. The kids also each drew her a special picture, and Caren bound it together in a book for her. She also got a lovely Mickey necklace and bracelet with a flower bouquet from the class. Mrs. Thompson, the class aide, also got a special Mickey necklace. The kids loved signing their names in the cards for Mrs. Pavloff and Mrs. Thompson.share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8UbNGrdw3Uj_Q
Happy Mother's Day! We enjoyed an afternoon and evening at Disneyland thanks to Charlize's mom, Ann. Since our passes expired, she signed us in to the parks with her castmember i.d. We started off visiting the fairies at Pixie Hollow in Disneyland, rode Small World, ran into Mary Poppins and Bert on Main Street as we headed over to California Adventure, ate a snack while watching the Pixar Play Parade, rode Jumpin Jellyfish, had dinner at Whitewater Snacks, and walked through Downtown Disney (stopping to say "hi" to Ann while she worked at Disney Studio 365) before heading home.share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8UbNGrdw3Uj7A
Caren had her annual Mother's Day tea with the other moms while Richard took Cecily to Lowe's and Lakeshore to make some Mother's Day crafts. When we all got home, we went for a nice bike ride through Brightwater. Cecily is getting so good at riding her two-wheeled bike. Now she just needs to get a bigger one that fits her better.
Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today was a crazy day. Cecily celebrated Cinco de Mayo at school with a story, toilet paper tube maraca craft, music, and snacks (tortilla chips, churros, and Mexican hot chocolate).Right after school, we raced off to Build A Bear at Fashion Island for our Daisy Troop field trip. Each girl got to make two bears: one to keep and one to give to a child at CHOC. They enjoyed making, naming, and dressing their bears. Cecily named her bear Vanilla Sugar and dressed her in a blue Daisy scout vest, white skirt, and silver flip flops.

We were originally supposed to go to Universal Studios with Allen and Cindy today, but that fell through. Instead, we got to meet the newest member of their family, Brian. Cecily had such a great time playing with Stewie and Brian in the yard.share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8UbNGrdw3UjdQ
