Hair Cut 06-28-17

Universal Studios 06-26-17

We planned a fun day at Universal Studios with Danielle and Jo before we are blocked out for July. It was hot and there were a lot of people there, but it was not too bad. We stayed cool with delicious drinks (Freeze Ray Smoothies & frozen Butterbeer) and enjoyed the air conditioning above Cletus' Chicken Shack in Springfield. Danielle's brother Nick had a blast in the water park area of Super Silly Fun Land. We even got to see the Harry Potter Hogwarts Light Show three times (twice in the Hippogriff line and once in the Butterbeer line). Last Day of School 06-22-17

It has been a crazy last week of school. Wednesday was 8th Grade Promotion, so all the kids got out of school at 10:45 am. So we took advantage and headed to Soak City for a fun afternoon. https://pix.sfly.com/zyO-nE

Father's Day Weekend 06-18-17

We celebrated Father's Day with Richard early on Saturday with a yummy lunch at Gen. Then on Sunday, we gave him a quiet day alone as his Father's Day gift as Caren and Cecily headed to Legoland to meet up with Allen, Cindy, Brendan, and Quinn. It was the first time for us to park in our new Ambassador spots in front of the hotel as they are working on building a new hotel in front of SeaLife Aquarium. Pool Day 06-16-17

Today was the last Friday before school got out for the summer, so Cecily wanted to walk to get smoothies after school. After they got their smoothies, Cecily and her friend Paris went for a swim at the condo pool. They had a fun afternoon. https://pix.sfly.com/QqhXeN

Newport Beach GS Center 06-14-17

Kelly invited us to tour the brand new Newport Beach Girl Scout Center with the CEO of the Orange County Girl Scouts, Nancy Nygren. Although it was not quite done yet, it was fun to see how the building was coming along and to hear about what activities they hoped to provide to the Girl Scouts of Orange County (STEM tablets, kayaking, etc.). https://pix.sfly.com/K-HPPG

MV Awards Night 06-13-17

Tonight was Marine View's annual awards night. Cecily received the Award of Merit for maintaing straight A's all year. Then as a surprise, she also received the 7th Grade Science Award as well. Great job, Cecily! https://pix.sfly.com/PiMTJn

Girl Scout Beach Party 06-11-17

Our Girl Scout Troop celebrated the end of the year with a fun day at Humboldt Island Beach. The girls brought some food to share to complete their New Cuisines Badge, and we borrowed some paddleboards from Todd for them to use in the water. Friday after school, we headed over to Paige's house to celebrate her 13th birthday. Cecily was supposed to go to the beach with the girls and then out to dinner on Main Street, but she wasn't feeling good and went home with Caren. Universal Studios 06-07-17

We took a last minute trip to Universal Studios after school to check out a special passholder preview of the new Night Time Lights at Hogwarts Castle. After riding the studio tram tour, we headed to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to enjoy the rest of the evening. The light projection show on the castle was pretty amazing, but it was too short at only about five minutes long. Lion's Heart Ceremony 06-04-17

Sunday was the annual Pride of the Lions Ceremony where members of Lions Heart were presented with the service awards they have earned over the past year. Having spent over 140 hours doing community service, Cecily earned the Gold Award this year. On top of that, her group voted for her to earn the special Torchbearer Award! Congratulations, Cecily!!!

After being out of school for a week to hang out with her cousins, Cecily was happy to be back at school with her friends. She spent a lot of time facetiming Amelia and she even went to the beach on Saturday with Caroline. https://pix.sfly.com/y_c8-o
