Cotillion 04-30-13

Tonight was the last Cotillion of the 2012-2013 season. For the last third grade cotillion, the kids had a costume party. The theme was Wizard of Oz, but they could wear whatever costume they wanted. After going through all her costume options, Cecily chose to be an 80's girl. Luckily, we were able to pull everything she needed out of her dresser. Scarlett and Sophia were both leopards while Presley was Audrey Hepburn. We headed to Cucina Alessa for a delicious dinner before ending the night at Baskin Robbins. Last month when Cecily got her five scoops of assorted ice cream, she decided it was too much. So we ended up getting a quart of bubble gum ice cream instead. Soccer & Alexsia's Party 04-27-13

After a practice session with the LA Galaxy trainers the night before, our girls played the Sugar Rushers this morning. They must have been tired out from the club-level play since they lost. The girls were excited to be handed lollipops by the girls on the other team after the game though. http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8UbNGrdw3VVmg In the afternoon, we headed to Tustin with Emily for Alexsia's 9th birthday party at Olivia's Dollhouse Tea Room. The kids started by getting dressed up, picking out fancy shoes (the girls LOVED the high heels), and getting their hair and nails done. Cecily didn't want to dress up, but she picked out a cute pair of leopard heels to match her top before getting her nails and hair done. They all got to walk down the red carpet and get their pictures taken before they headed into the tearoom for lunch. Cecily's Birthday Party 04-21-13

Happy 9th Birthday to Cecily!!! We partied like rock stars to celebrate Cecily's birthday with our family and friends. Everyone was invited with a concert ticket. When first arriving, all the kids autographed a gold record for Cecily and received a VIP pass to wear during the party. We had concert concessions for lunch: cracker jacks, veggies, strawberries, nacho cheese, chili, french fries, chips, hot dogs, Chinese chicken salad, juice, soda, water, and adult drinks. The kids had fun out on the play structure, rocking out and dancing at the Wii Rock station, taking goofy pictures at the Photo Booth station, played DJ on Uncle Doug's ipad, and chilled at the Katy Perry and Taylor Swift concerts on the TV. Even the boys of One Direction showed up for some photo ops. Everyone enjoyed ice cream cups and delicious microphone cupcakes made by Grandma Lynn and Aunt Christina with their helper Emily. Everybody went home with a cool musical pen, pop rocks, and a CD full of fun party songs picked by Cecily. Soccer Game 04-20-13

The Blue Lightning Bolts played the Poisonous Pickles today and won 3-0. Cecily seemed to be more of an aggressive player when she was playing against her friends Sophia and Sinead. Tide Pool Condos 04-18-13

Cecily's third grade class put on a show with two other third grade classes tonight called "Tide Pool Condos." Cecily played the part of a mammal, or specifically a sassy dolphin. Brownie Gibbs Park 04-17-13

Our Brownie troop took a field trip today to the Gibbs Butterfly Park. The girls learned about butterflies and took a tour of the park checking out the various plants, flowers, and trees. They got to hold caterpillars and plant some seeds. From this field trip, they earned their Bug patches. Earrings & CHOC 04-07-13

Cecily really wanted to get her ears pierced for her birthday this year. So taking advantage of a break in our spring soccer season, we took her today. Since Caren had issues with the gun piercing at the mall, they decided to go to a body piercing place. Cecily was so excited to pick out the color of the ball that would go on her new hoop earrings. She was so brave, and we celebrated by going out to lunch at Karl Strauss. Then we headed to CHOC to drop off some games, books, and toys. Soccer Game 04-06-13

Go Blue Lightning Bolts! Our team was undefeated (winning our last 4 games) until today. The girls just did not seem awake and were walking around the field instead of running. Even though we lost our first game today, the girls in general work really well together as a team. Since we had some playgroup drama, we had another egg hunt today with Emma and Paige. Cecily was so excited to see her friends. Egg Hunt 04-03-13
