UCSD & Reception 08-23-08

We took Cecily back to see UCSD this morning. She loved running around Price Center and Library Walk. We had fun seeing the Seuss Room at the library as well as the Cat in the Hat statue and the rock bear. It was crazy to see how many things have changed since we graduated in 2000. On the way back to our hotel, we stopped in Del Mar to get our favorite sandwiches at Board and Brew. Then we took Cecily for a quick dip in the hotel pool.

In the evening, we attended the wedding reception for Payal at the La Jolla Cove Suites Hotel. It was on the rooftop deck overlooking the ocean. The sun was a little hot, but once the clouds rolled in, it was a gorgeous setting.

Legoland & Welcome Dinner 08-22-08

We met up with our friends Paul, Gina, Kayla, and Sean for some water fun at Legoland this afternoon after we picked Cecily up from school. Sean was loving the kiddie area in Pirate Shores while Cecily and Kayla had fun getting wet on the Splash Battle ride. After they left, we went over to Legoland's new Sealife Aquarium. Although it was rather small, the theming was amazing. Cecily enjoyed seeing all the fish and the Lego pieces with the exhibits.

Later in the evening, we attended the Welcome Dinner for Caren's college friend, Payal.

We enjoyed a delicious Indian dinner along with some singing and dancing entertainment.

Nathan's Birthday Party 08-20-08

Our playgroup celebrated Nathan's 4th birthday today at Discovery Well Park. The kids enjoyed pizza and cupcakes while playing at the park.

Happy Anniversary 08-19-08

Happy Anniversary to us! Can't believe it's been 7 years!! We celebrated with a delicious dinner at Steakhouse 55 in the Disneyland Hotel. We even enjoyed having 3 desserts! Then we went to Disneyland and rode the Matterhorn and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad since we haven't done the big kid rides in so long. We were hoping to ride Space Mountain too, but that line was just too long. It was a little strange to be at Disneyland without Cecily though!

Simms Housewarming 08-16-08

Our friends Chris and Keri moved to Manhattan Beach and bought an enormous beautiful house. We went up there with some other friends for their housewarming party last night. We got to see their new home which looked like it was a model home. We love the style of their home, and if only we could find a house for us that was half that size!

Playgroup Pool Day 08-13-08

Cecily's playgroup friends, Bronson and Nathan, came over to play in the pool today. Bronson and Cecily both have no fear in the water and were really enjoying walking in the shallow end, jumping in the water, and swimming.

Cecily's Eye Visit 08-08-08

Cecily had her very first appointment with our optometrist today. Dr. Lowe checked Cecily's eyes and said she was the best 4 year old patient she had ever had.

Allen & Cindy's Wedding 08-02-08

Cecily was the most adorable flower girl at her Uncle Allen's wedding.

She got to have her hair done and wear a pretty princess dress.

Since it was a big fat Chinese wedding, we were on Chinese time with everything running late.
We watched the Tea Ceremony where Allen and Cindy made a lot of money from those little red envelopes. Then, Cecily walked down the aisle all by herself! There was a mix-up with the cocktail hour, and the only thing ended up being served was fruit punch. It was our very first Chinese banquet reception, and the food was yummy. Congratulations to Uncle Allen and AUNT Cindy!!!

Wedding Rehearsal & Dinner 08-01-08

We attended the wedding rehearsal and dinner of Caren's brother Allen at the Pacific Palms Resort. Cecily had to practice her flower girl walk (first time being carried by Caren, second time walking holding Caren's hand). Everything was on Asian time and all the festivities were delayed. But the rehearsal went off well, and everyone enjoyed the Chinese banquet rehearsal dinner.
