T-Ball Practice 01-31-11

Cecily had her second t-ball practice, where she got to use her brand new softball equipment (glove, helmet, and bat). Her hand/eye coordination has improved so much already. The girls voted to have their team name be Goldilicious.

Daisies & Ice Skating 01-26-11

We had our Daisy troop meeting today for the first time at the Harbour View Clubhouse. A special guest (Girl Scout Ambassador) came to talk and share her chinchilla. Then the girls gathered pinecones outside for the chinchilla.
Afterwards, we headed over to the ice rink to practice ice skating before Cecily's lesson. Last week, she clung to the edge. This week, she never touched the side! She had so much more confidence and was learning to glide much better on the ice.

First T-Ball Practice 01-24-11

Cecily had her very first T-ball/softball team meeting and practice tonight. She was so excited to see her friend Laira who is also on her team. Unlike soccer, there were no tears! She loved throwing the ball and can't wait to practice again.

Grandma's Birthday 01-23-11

Happy birthday, Grandma! We tried to take her to the LA Zoo to celebrate (a day early), but for some reason it was super crowded and the parking lot was closed. So we ended up driving around Griffith Park and going to Travel Town. Cecily loved exploring the trains. After Travel Town, we drove around the park to check out the view of the Hollywood sign from Griffith Observatory. At night, we enjoyed a birthday dinner with Uncle Allen, Aunt Cindy, and Brendan.

Skylar's Birthday Party 01-22-11

We celebrated Skylar's 7th birthday at her bowling party. It was a little crazy with bad planning (mom did not reserve lanes, and there was a bowling tournament) and children running around like crazy (no adult supervision). But the pizza was delicious, and Cecily enjoyed the bowling.

Ice Skating 01-19-11

Cecily had her second ice skating lesson tonight. But before her class, we went to an open skate to practice. Caren got out on the ice with her and was happy she didn't fall! Cecily was great and had a lot of confidence in herself. She went around the rink holding the edge, and then she glided along holding Caren's hand before going all by herself. She is loving ice skating.

Kayla's Birthday Party 01-14-11

Happy 6th birthday, Kayla!
We celebrated at Boomer's with pizza, cupcakes, miniature golf, and fun rides. Cecily missed out on the rides last time we were here for a birthday party, so she was super excited to ride them, and especially looking forward to climbing the rock wall. After everyone left, she even got to play one more round of miniature golf.

Daisies & Ice Skating 01-12-11

We took our first field trip with our Daisy troop this year to the OC Humane Society. The girls got to see dogs, cats, and rabbits. They even got to name some of the animals.
In the evening, Cecily had her very first ice skating lesson. Once she started, her smile never left her face. She fell a few times, but she loved it!

Happy New Year 01-01-11

Happy New Year!
We started off 2011 with a lazy day at home. In the morning, we watched the Rose Parade, in the afternoon we went for a bike ride, and in the evening we started to put away our Christmas decorations.
