Train & Sean's Birthday 07-30-08

After school, we celebrated Sean's first birthday at Brandy's house with our playgroup. The kids had fun playing and eating a yummy surf board cake.

This morning, the Toyland Express came to Cecily's school to give the kids train rides.

Earthquake! 07-29-08

Cecily experienced her very first earthquake today. We didn't get to see her reaction because she was at school. The earthquake happened just before noon. It was 5.8 and centered in Chino Hills. When Caren picked Cecily up from school, the kids all seemed pretty normal. Cecily later told us that when the floor shook, they got under their desks at school. So luckily, it looks like the kids weren't too scared.

Playgroup Pool Day 07-23-08

Cecily had her playgroup friends over for a swim today. The kids enjoyed splashing, swimming, and jumping in the water.

We invited our playgroup over to swim today, but only Tomi and Jack came to play. Cecily and Tomi had so much fun splashing and swimming in the water. Jack loved the pool so much he didn't want to leave.

Playgroup Beach Day 07-09-08

We took our annual kids on the beach picture at our playgroup at Huntington Beach today. This year, the kids really enjoyed playing in the water.

Farewell Party 07-08-08

Our playgroup had a farewell party for Ed, Erin, John, and Jack. They are finally moving back to their home in Philadelphia. Cecily and John have grown up together since they were about 6 months old. We will miss them!

Happy 4th of July 07-04-08

Happy 4th of July! We drove out to Phoenix yesterday to spend the holiday weekend with Richard's parents. Cecily had a fun evening with her cousin Austin when we arrived at Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Otto's house. Today, Cecily spent the afternoon playing with Austin again before Hayden and Emily came over to play. We had a yummy BBQ dinner before the kids splashed in the cool kiddie pool. It rained at night, so we were unable to go out and watch fireworks, but we did TIVO some to watch on TV. The adults enjoyed some Wii as well. Then, Cecily had her first slumber party with Emily sleeping over, and the two of them shared their own room at Grandma Lynn's house.

Patriotic Playgroup 07-02-08

We had a Patriotic playgroup potluck today to celebrate the 4th of July a little early. A former mom in our playgroup, Kelly, came back to visit and to surprise Erin before she moves to Philadelphia next week. Erin was very excited to see Kelly, and we enjoyed catching up with her.
