Cecily sold Girl Scout cookies with her troop at Trader Joe's today. Since it was nearing the end of cookie sales, the girls only sold 30 boxes during the two hours we were there.

Quinn Zoey 02-22-14

Quinn Zoey was born on January 29. But because we were sick, then Quinn and Cindy were sick, we were finally able to go up to Grandma and Papa's house to meet her today. Cotillion 02-19-14

Since it was right after Valentine's Day, Caren wanted Cecily to wear pink for Cotillion. Cecily argued that she had promised Scarlett and Presley that they would all wear black. Well, the three of them all ended up wearing pink together. So cute! After Cotillion, we headed to dinner at Tsunami's for teppan with Sophia and her friend Lindsey. James & the Giant Peach 02-18-14

The 4th graders took a field trip to the OC Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa to see James and the Giant Peach. Caren was able to go with Cecily's class, and she even got to ride the bus with them. Valentine's Day 02-14-14

Happy Valentine's Day! Today, it's been 14 years since our very first date. Since Richard had the day off, we went and had tea for lunch while Cecily was at school. After we picked her up from school, we headed to an early Valentines dinner. When we got home, Cecily set up her cookie booth outside. On Saturday, we checked out the Hurley Friends and Family sale before heading up to Pasadena to see Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. On Sunday, Cecily started working on her mission report. She started on her model, which we thought would take a couple weekends. Isobel's Birthday Party 02-10-14

Tet Festival 02-08-14

We went to the OC Fairgrounds to check out the Tet Festival (Lunar New Year) with Emily, Sophia, and Sinead (and their moms). Cecily and Caren shared a Vietnamese beef stew noodle and boba tea while the others also ate yummy Vietnamese goodies. After lunch, Cecily and Sinead rode the swing ride. They loved it! The other kids played a couple games before we checked out some of the booths and watched the dragon dance performance. When we got home, Cecily went outside on our corner to sell Girl Scout Cookies with Sophia and Allie before Paige came over to play for the night. GS International Fair 02-07-14

Our Girl Scout Troop attended the International Fair and had China as their booth. We taught other Girl Scouts how to make Chinese paper lanterns, and they also got a fortune cookie and a hand-made red envelope with a shiny penny inside. They also got to go around to the other booths/countries to sample snacks and make crafts. Cecily made a snake game in Egypt, a paper flower in Mexico, ate a cream puff in France, made a bracelet in Greece, and sampled chocolate and learned a dance in Brazil. But her favorite booth was the U.S.A. booth where she made three different headbands. Danielle's Birthday Party 02-01-14

Happy 10th Birthday, Danielle! We helped her celebrate at her party at Get Air, the new trampoline place in Huntington Beach. The kids had so much fun bouncing and playing dodge ball.
