Playgroup Thanksgiving 11-25-09

We had our Playgroup Thanksgiving potluck party today. The kids got to dress up as pilgrims and Indians and play in the teepee and tunnels in the backyard.

Christian's Birthday Party 11-22-09

Cecily attended her second school party today to celebrate Christian's 6th birthday. We picked up Cecily's friend, Charlize, to take her with us. The kids had so much fun playing on the playground, making their own frisbees, and coloring their own hackee sacks. Christian's mom made an awesome Transformers themed cake as well.

Disney Day 11-21-09

We went back to Disneyland to see more Christmas stuff today. We headed to California Adventure first where we rode Monsters' Inc., Flik's Flyers, Heimlich's Chew Chew Train, and Soarin' Over California. Then we went over to Disneyland where we met Santa at the Reindeer Round-Up, and Cecily got to tell him what she wanted for Christmas (Play-Doh Ice Cream Set). We ate lunch at the Big Thunder BBQ, then watched the Christmas Parade and rode Small World. On the way out of the park, we ended up catching the castle lighting ceremony and snow on Main Street. Cecily loved the snow!

Disneyland 11-20-09

After school, Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Otto came to visit. We went to Disneyland for the evening to see the fireworks and snow. We ate dinner at the Riverbelle Terrace, rode Haunted Mansion & Pirates of the Caribbean, and watched the fireworks. Thanksgiving Feast & Daisy Investiture 11-19-09

This morning was the Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast at Cecily's school. The entire kindergarten class dressed up as pilgrims and Indians and came together in Pelican Hall for a Thanksgiving Feast of chicken nuggets, corn bread, fruit salad, popcorn, and pumpkin pie. The kids had made their own placemats, place cards, and costumes in class. They ate and sang songs, and they had a great time together.

In the evening, her Daisy Scout troop along with two other Daisy troops and one Brownie troop had their Investiture Ceremony, where each girl got their Girl Scout pin. All the girls said the Girls Scout Promise, sang songs, and received their pins.

Special Person Day & Daisy Mtg. 11-18-09

Today was Grandparents/Special Person Day at Cecily's school. Since Grandma and PaPa were out of the country on vacation, Caren was Cecily's special person. Caren volunteered at the Book Fair in the morning, then went to Special Person Day. The kids sang a song, they had a small reception, and then the special people got to visit the classrooms and help the kids make a pinecone turkey.

After school was Cecily's Daisy Scout meeting. The girls practiced their Girl Scout pledge, sang some songs, and made paper placemats for Meals On Wheels. They earned their very first petal patch - make the world a better place.

Happy Birthday Caren! 11-15-09

Happy birthday, Caren! We celebrated by going to California Adventure and Disneyland in the morning. The lines were not long, so we were able to enjoy the rides before heading over to the House of Blues for lunch. Later in the evening, Richard and Caren went out for a birthday dinner at Roman Cucina.

Lowe's, Lakeshore, & Cupcakes 11-14-09

We started off the morning building a race car garage at Lowe's with Cecily's cousins, Austin, Hayden, and Emily.
Then we headed over to Lakeshore to do a leafy butterfly craft with Paige. We also went to lunch with Paige and Dawn at Claim Jumpers.
Finally, we ended our day with Tomi's birthday party at the Sweet Spot in Irvine Spectrum. Cecily enjoyed decorating cupcakes with frosting and toppings. She saved them to bring home so we can eat them tomorrow to celebrate Caren's birthday.

Legoland 11-11-09

Since today was Veteran's Day, Cecily did not have school. So we went down to Legoland with Dawn and Paige. Apparently many other people had the same idea because it was slightly crowded (much more crowded than Halloween day). But we still got to go on several rides and see the fireman show, so the girls had a lot of fun. We even got to shop at the Carlsbad Outlet Mall after Legoland.

Selling Girl Scout Nuts

Since Cecily is now a Girl Scout, she has been selling the Girl Scout Nuts at Booth Sales for her troop. Today, Cecily and Abbie finished up selling the rest of the cans for their troop at Ralphs. Abbie did all the talking while Cecily was her moral support.
Friday was the first day of their Booth Sale at Ralphs. Cecily, Danielle, Abbie, Sinead, and Alexsia sold 15 cans in one hour! The nut sales was great practice for them. Can't wait for Girl Scout cookie time!

Daisy Scouts 11-04-09

Cecily had her second Daisy Scout meeting today after school. Her troop went on their first field trip - walking to Trader Joe's. They got a tour of the store, found Larry the Lobster, explored the backroom fridge & freezer, and learned about recycling.

Cal. Adven. & Lego 11-03-09

After school, we headed to California Adventure to go on a few rides before going to the Lego building at Downtown Disney. We met up with Abbie, Asea, Michael, and Kimberly and rode Toy Story Mania, Golden Zephyr, Jumpin Jellyfish, and Soarin Over California. The Lego building is from 5-7 pm the first Tuesday of every month. We got to the line at 5:30, and it was the craziest line we had ever seen! It took forever, but the kids really enjoyed building their Lego turkey. But since it was such a long wait, we didn't have time to go into Disneyland afterwards.

Abbie's Birthday Party 11-01-09

Cecily celebrated Abbie's 5th birthday at her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party. She didn't really interact with the other kids since she didn't know anyone except Abbie, but she did really enjoy all the Mickey Mouse coloring pages.

Legoland & Halloween 10-31-09

We took Cecily's friend, Laira, down to Legoland to Brick or Treat in the morning. The girls had so much fun going on the rides and trick or treating.

We joined Laira's family for dinner at their house, then went trick or treating with them in their neighborhood. Cecily was on her fifth costume (#1=Sleeping Beauty, #2=Rosetta Fairy, #3=Witch, #4=Pixie, #5=Ariel). She enjoyed trick or treating with Laira and their friend Jacob, who is also in Cecily's kindergarten class. The kids had a great time!
