Gymnastics 07-30-09

Cecily had her very first gymnastics class today at the same gym where we attended Emma's birthday party. When the teacher came to get the girls, she went off with no problems. Cecily followed along with the other other girls and did a fantastic job. She LOVED it!

Lowe's & Katie's Birthday 07-25-09

We started off the morning at Lowes for their Build and Grow program. The kids all got to build their own wooden helicopter. Then, Cecily went to her friend, Katie's birthday party. She got to play with her school friends at Central Park, as well as hit a pinata. Cecily shared her pinata goodies with her cousins when she got home. We also went swimming to enjoy the nice weather.

Cousins 07-24-09

Uncle Doug, Aunt Christina, Emily, Hayden, and Austin came out to visit and stay with us for the weekend. Cecily was super excited to see her cousins. Friday morning, Cecily had to go to school. But after school, we went to Pattinson Park and then swimming at our house. The kids loved playing in the pool and at our house. Then, we enjoyed a delicious dinner cooked on our brand new BBQ.

Stewie & Swimming 07-19-09

We went up to Pasadena to see Uncle Allen and Aunt Cindy's new puppy, Stewie. Cecily loved feeding him and playing with him. He is soooo cute! We also went for a dip in the pool since it was so hot up there.

Emma's Birthday Party 07-18-09

Happy 5th birthday Emma! We celebrated her birthday at Scats gym. The kids had a fabulous time using the gym equipment, eating pizza, and having cupcakes. Cecily had so much fun, that Caren signed her up for some gymastics classes. It was just too bad that our nice camera lens broke, so we had to use our underwater camera to take pictures. Can't wait for our lens to be fixed so we can use our nice camera again. After the party, we headed down to San Diego to spend a couple hours at Legoland. Cecily and Richard rode the helicopter ride, and we watched the fireworks. Then we went to Del Mar to pick up Kayla from her cousin's wedding to bring her home.

Temecula 07-15-09

Caren's dad's cousin, Richard Wellington, passed away on Friday, July 10. Today, the extended family gathered in Temecula for his Memorial Service. It was great to see all the cousins and see how big the little ones were getting. In this picture, Cecily and Caren are with their cousins Ella, Katherine, Jennifer, Morgan, Cynthia, and Grace.

Bronson's Birthday Party 07-14-09

Even though Bronson's birthday was in June, he didn't have his party until today because his family has been out of town on vacation. The kids played pin the fire hat on the dalmation and hit a fire truck pinata to collect lots of yummy candy. Happy 5th birthday, Bronson!

Lowe's & Michelle's Birthday 07-11-09

This morning we met up with Cecily's friends at Lowe's to build a treasure chest. The kids had so much fun hammering and stickering. When we were done, we headed to Carl's Jr. for some lunch and to let the kids run around in the playplace.

In the afternoon, we drove up to Pasadena. We stopped by to say hi to Grandma and Papa before heading over to Michelle's house for her birthday party. The theme was dressing up as a character that starts with the letter "M." Michelle's friends came up with some very creative costumes. Cecily was a Mermaid, Richard was the Mad Hatter, and Caren was Maleficient (from Sleeping Beauty).

OC Fair 07-10-09

It was opening day of the Orange County Fair, with free parking and free admission for the first hour. So we went and met up with our friends to enjoy the fair. We ate some yummy food, watched a little circus, fed the animals in the petting zoo, and watched our friends on the Goliath Slide and the elephant ride. Cecily had been so looking forward to riding the elephant since she had done that the last two years all by herself. But this year for some reason, once we got to the elephant, she did not want to ride it. But she still had fun at the OC Fair with her friends. Since it was so hot, we went for a dip in the pool when we got home.

Moms Night Out 07-09-09

We celebrated Gina and Amanda's birthdays with a Moms Night Out at the Melting Pot. Drinks, cheese, salad, dinner, and chocolate. YUM! We were in the restaurant for 4 hours. What a nice and relaxing evening with no kids.

Lego & Disney 07-07-09

After school, Caren took Cecily to California Adventure for a few rides before meeting up with their friends at the Lego Store. They rode Monsters Inc. once and Jumpin Jellyfish twice before going to the Lego Building Event. At the Lego Store, the kids got to build their own Lego American flag, which they also got to keep and take home. Then they had dinner at Whitewater Snacks, where the kids ate all their food and played together so nicely. After Trish and Cheryl left, Cecily and Michael watched some Disney cartoons in the lobby of the Grand Californian before Caren and Cecily headed back to California Adventure to ride Soarin Over California and to watch the Electrical Parade. The kids can't wait to go back to the Lego Store in August to build a Lego lobster.

Michelle's Birthday 07-06-09

Happy birthday, Michelle! Cecily and Caren took Michelle to Disneyland to celebrate. They visited Minnie and Mickey's house, rode the Carousel, Roger Rabbit, Small World, Tarzan's Treehouse, Winnie the Pooh, and Pirates of the Caribbean. They ended the evening watching Fantasmic and the Magical Fireworks.

Fourth of July 07-04-09

Happy 4th of July! We spent the day in Mission Viejo at Brandy's house. We BBQed, swam, swam some more, and watched the Lake Mission Viejo fireworks from their house. The kids had a lot of fun playing in the water. They were so tired during the fireworks that they kept asking when it was going to be over. We spent the night so Cecily could have a "slumber party" with Tomi in her room. She stayed with Tomi for the first half of the night, then spent the second half of the night with Caren and Richard in the guest room. Not too bad for a first sleepover.

Gina's Birthday 07-03-09

Caren and Gina went to Disneyland for the evening to celebrate Gina's birthday and to use her free-on-your-birthday Disneyland ticket. For a Friday in July and especially the day before the 4th, it was surprisingly not too crowded. They rode Matterhorn, Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain, and Space Mountain in about six hours, during which they also enjoyed dinner at Rancho Del Zocola. They actually rode Thunder Mountain one and a half times, since the first time they rode it, it broke down, and they had to walk through the ride to get off. But they still had a great time.
