Since Cecily is in the GATE class but not a GATE student, she has been discouraged about getting an award at the Pelican Pride Assembly. On Wednesday, she finally got the Creativity Award. Harbour View is working on putting up a new tile wall so students can leave their mark at school. Cecily didn't want to paint at school, so we went to Hidden Talents for her to paint her tile. Quinn's Birthday & Girl Scout Cookies 01-24-15

Happy 1st Birthday, Quinn! We helped her celebrate at her Super Mario themed party at a play place in La Canada. Cecily had so much fun bouncing and taking Quinn around the party. This was also Girl Scout Cookie Weekend! We got the troop excited about cookies by watching "Troop Beverly Hills" at our last meeting. On Saturday before Quinn's party, Caren picked up 185 cases (about 2200 boxes) of Girl Scout cookies. She got sucked into being Cookie Mom this year, so we stored all the cookies in our garage for disbursement for our troop. Sunday morning, Cecily went out around the neighborhood with Allie and Sophia while Caren had the parents in our troop come pick up their own allotment of cookies. In the afternoon, we set up a little booth on our corner for Cecily to sell (with the help of Ella, Harper, and Remi). Star Wars & Little Mermaid 01-17-15

While Cecily was doing Meet the Masters at school, Caren was volunteering at the Inaugural Disneyland Star Wars Half Marathon. Wednesday night, she helped stuff bags with pins and Cliff bars. 01-14-15 On Thursday, she helped with registration for the 10k, by passing out bibs at the Disneyland Hotel. She got a free lunch and checked out the Star Wars Expo in the Disneyland Hotel Ballroom before heading back to pick Cecily up from school. Girl Scout Microsoft Store 01-11-15

Our Girl Scout Troop headed to South Coast Plaza for a workshop at the Microsoft Store. The girls used Microsoft smartphones as well as Surface Pros to learn about digital photography. After taking pictures and learning how to edit them, the girls earned their Digital Photography Badge. Happy New Year 01-01-15

Happy New Year! We made it to midnight at the Conne's before heading home. Later in the evening, we re-created our New Year's Eve pictures with our recorded Dick Clark's Countdown. The Clarks had to leave to go visit Doug's family in San Diego. Cecily had so much fun with her cousins, she was sad to see them go.
